Heartland Regional Council of Carpenters
Organized Marketing Plan

(Local 106, Des Moines, billboard)

As you drive through the council areas of Rockford, Davenport, Rock Island, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Omaha and Lincoln, you will see billboards representing the Heartland Regional Council and the Locals in the area. This has been our first Council wide effort to market to the community and contractors that the Carpenters Union is "Alive and Well" in each community.

This campaign is for the purpose of union identity. From January 2002 through May 2002 the Billboards will contain the same design except the Heartland Regional Council text will be removed and the Appropriate Local Union's name will replace it. The billboards for June through September will be a testimonial featuring two carpenters from the council membership.

Also, as part of the Organized Marketing Plan, each of the local unions participating in the plan, have radio ads that played from October through November and will begin again in March for the rest of the year. You can call your local and get the radio times and stations where the ads will be running from March through October.  We would like to encourage you to turn these stations on at your work place so that everyone will hear them.

We hope that you and all members who have seen the billboards or heard the radio ads in your area will call your local and give your input pertaining to what you think of the ads and what you would like to see or any suggestions.
Remember the advertising/marketing represents you, your profession, and your union.  Your information and input will allow us to build a stronger campaign and give new ideas for future campaigns.
